This Girls Gone SPORTY

Girls Gone Sporty Ambassador Badge

Yay!  I am so excited to join the amazing community of super sporty, awesome, and supportive women as a Girls Gone Sporty Ambassador this year! Whoop Whoop!

I love sports, always have. In fact, I was a pretty good bowler at an early age, possibly would have taken the world by storm. But I had other plans, I had big plans. I was pretty sure I was going to be an Olympic gymnast!

But then I fell in love with soccer. So that was cool, I would just be a professional soccer player.

But I did not want to commit to just one thing, so I figured I would do soccer and gymnastics, and play softball for a good 7 years before concluding that I did not really like playing softball all that much. Then I decided to play tennis in High School when it was the off-season for soccer.

Then I realized if I was going to be a professional or in the Olympics, I probably should have given one thing my all, or just be a hell of a lot better at one of those things than I was.

So needless to say, even though you will not be seeing me in Sochi this year (super pumped for the Olympics though), I still LOVE all sports!🙂 So being a Girls Gone Sporty Ambassador is not only cool because it is an amazing community, but also because I feel it fits me perfectly!

So, I have been busy so far this 2014 reading all the #GGS facebook posts, following so many new people on social media, and finding great new blogs to read. There are so many good ones out there, seriously, it is hard to keep up!

Are you excited for the Olympics? What is your favorite sport to watch?

What is your favorite sport to play?

  1. Congrats on being a Girl Gone Sporty ambassador! So what does that MEAN for you?

As for the Olympics, normally I am a huge fan and drive my family crazy … but I am having a hard time this year. And it is because of the hateful and discriminatory laws in place, as well as the violence we keep seeing against people in Russia based solely on who they choose to love.

So … yeah, a little less excited this year – which is sad, because it SHOULD always be about the athletes, but when I am concerned about the health and safety of athletes and fans due to small-minded hatred on the part of the host country, it bugs me.

    • What does being a GGS ambassador mean FOR me? I don’t know totally yet, but from what i can tell it means being a part of a community, opportunities to try new products, and being able to submit articles for their website.

I hear ya on all the scary stuff going on over there, it is quite nerve racking! I like summer Olympics better but I also just love seeing people do something they love and compete for their country!

  2. I have to admit I’m a little more into the Summer Olympics than the Winter Olympics, only because I love running and the marathon & track events are my favorites to watch, but I do still watch and support the Winter Olympic. I am always super impressed by the Winter Olympic sports, especially skiing & ice skating since I have zero coordination.

  3. Congrats, you seem like you would be a perfect fit for that!

I am pumped for the olympics. I love watching all of the sports because I just love watching people do something they LOVE doing!
