The title pretty much sums it up, so let us just get right into it….
I was watching Good Morning America this morning and saw this story that annoyed me, and inevitably, sparked a blog post!
This middle school girl got a letter sent home with her stating that she was overweight after getting her BMI calculated at a health screening at school. Her mother was outraged and says she is a star volleyball player at school and is tall and athletic. She looks healthy and happy to me!!
We have all seen and heard the pictures and stories about models today being too skinny to be role models for young girls and how Marilyn Monroe’s curves may have possibly been called ‘fat’ in today’s society (which is just about as ridiculous as the sporty, little girl above being called fat)!
Food is supposed to be used as fuel for our bodies. It is like the story of the Three Bears…. we do not want to eat too much, we do not want eat too little, but eat JUST the right amount. Which, I know, is not always easy!! Also, every BODY is different, one person’s just right may differ from the others!
I read a blog post the other day about the Freshman 15 actually now being more like the Freshman 25 or 30! Being one that did gain my share of 15 pounds, and then some, my freshman year, I did a little research. And indeed, there was a recent news report of FOX backing this claim up…you can view the video here.
Yep, this food tray looks about right! Although, if it were me, there would definitely be some cookies on there….just saying….
‘BIGGEST LOSER’ STAR Sued By Fitness Company: YOU CAN’T GET FAT AGAIN!!!
Tara Costa, who famously lost 155 POUNDS on The Biggest Loser: Couples 2 in 2009, is being sued by a company for re-gaining “far too much weight” to represent the brand in photo shoots and public appearances. Read the full article here.
Seriously!? Let’s be real…keeping weight off is not easy, for anyone, let alone people who basically get their butts kicked during the The Biggest Loser and then return back home to their regular lives! Aye aye, just saying…
What a week of food looks like in different countries
Food for a week for a family in France
A family in Italy‘s food for a week
And this is an American family…..
See more countries’ images of food for a week here - this is a really cool post! Not only to show the lack of fresh, natural food and abundance of packaged food that American families generally consume, but also to see how little other countries can get by on and how lucky we are to even have food to eat!
