Sunrises are one of my favorite sights to see and the sunrise on the beach is one of my favorite places to be! The beauty is breathtaking and God is truly amazing. (I realized my first sentence rhymed and I had to run with that little poem!)
I just got back from the a family vacation on the Delaware beach and was so grateful to wake up every morning and take a jog or walk with the dog along the water. There is something so peaceful and tranquil about being up at the early morning hour and having the whole beach to myself! Just me and all of God’s wonderful creations.
Having a delicious cup of fresh ground, organic coffee with my little nephew is also a highlight of waking up early!
While I was on a morning run, thinking about how awesome it would be to live near the ocean and teach boot camps on the beach (dream job!), it got me thinking about what stops us from doing our dream jobs. I suppose money, fear of failing, fear of letting people down that rely on us (like if you have kids and need to provide for them!), lack of health insurance, unsure where to start….there are a million reasons, really.
I have always wanted to have ‘my own business’ growing up. No idea what it was going to be, but my dad even made me own little business desk when I was younger (I still have it). I would write checks out to the bank, plan meetings, make fake phone calls and pretend I was just really busy and important! As I got older and got to experience many different beautiful places and meet many different interesting people in America, I started to imagine my dream job. I took a trip to Miami years ago and something about the town and people and atmosphere really got me thinking how awesome it would be to lead morning workout classes and take runs on the beach and sell smoothies down by the seashore. I don’t really think I would want to live in Miami, however, that feeling and desire to live by the ocean and share my love of health and fitness has never left me.
Over the years, I have put many ideas on paper, wrote mock business plans, read business books, looked up info online, got a great idea, changed my mind, started a blog, and so on. While I am still figuring out what I want to do when I grow up, there is a pretty cool option for us fitness and beach lovers. Fitness Pro Travel is a community made up of fitness, sport, and allied health professionals that offers teaching vacation opportunities. Basically, they pay for your stay at a resort in exchange for you teaching a few fitness classes while you are there. I think this sounds AWESOME! While I am out of vaca days at work this year (boo!), I really would like to try this next year!
Have you ever done anything like Fitness Pro Travel? If so, please do share!!!! If not, would you be interested in something like this?
